Program Overview
The XULA Math Circle Program is a problem-solving, mentored mathematical research and enrichment program for middle and high school students. Participants meet weekly with XULA faculty to explore advanced mathematical ideas beyond the standard school curriculum.
Students engage with open problems in mathematics, strengthen critical thinking, explore mathematical research, and develop skills in presenting ideas to a scholarly audience.
Program Timeline & Structure
- Dates: February 14 – May 2, 2026
- Meetings: Weekly on Saturdays

- Duration: Two hours per session
Topics (Spring 2026)
- The Stern–Brocot Tree: An elementary construction offering deep insight and visual understanding of rational and real numbers.
- Snake Graphs & Continued Fractions: Exploring combinatorial and algebraic structures and their deep connections.
